“CNC Start” – Basics of digital manufacturing with CAM systems | Basic

This multi-day specialist training course provides you with a sound introduction to the world of CNC/CAM programming. From initial orientation in the user interface to practical tips for daily use. You will learn step by step how to manufacture components efficiently and professionally in digital form.

This specialist training course is suitable for anyone who is involved in CAM programming and wants to optimize their processes using advanced software solutions. The course covers the basics of CNC programming as well as an introduction to complex strategies for 2D and 3D machining, which are essential in the automated programming of complex geometries. It also looks at the initial basics required for automated CNC/CAM programming.

CAD basic functions

  • Learning how to use all surface and curve commands
  • Interfaces and layer control using exercise examples

Programming interface / basic settings

  • Component preparation and programming interface
  • Definition of processing lists and coordinate systems
  • Creation of blanks, milling areas, tool & holder geometries
  • Familiarization with the various simulation options, NC file and documentation options (report)
  • First cycle definitions in the 2D area (contour and pocket machining, definition of drilling cycles, residual material machining, radius correction)
  • Working with 3D cycles (roughing, various finishing strategies, residual material processing, collision control and avoidance)
