Users of the Hummingbird MES software, employees in production planning and work scheduling, department heads, production planners, and project managers
Prerequisites
General PC and software skills, basic knowledge of production planning and control, as well as basic knowledge of Insight project management
Learning content
Participants will learn how to use Hummingbird to set up and manage a modern, agile, and paperless production planning system. They will understand how the module works, be able to actively shape planning processes, and use the system confidently in their day-to-day operations.
Course content
The Planning and Control module enables digital, agile, and transparent organization of production. Real-time data, automated communication, and a central planning dashboard provide a comprehensive overview of orders, resources, and progress.
- Fundamentals of Digital Production Planning: Structure and Functionality of the Module, and the Benefits of End-to-End Digitalization with Real-Time Transparency
- Agile Methods in Manufacturing: Using Scrum and Kanban Principles for Flexible Planning and a Structured Approach to Changes or Shifts in Priorities
- Process and Capacity Planning: High-level and detailed planning of resources and deadlines, including forward and backward scheduling as well as adjustments to work steps
- Team and Machine Management: Organizing teams and machine workstations using the agile planning board, supported by interactive team coordination
- Paperless Manufacturing and Shop Floor Integration: Digital Documents, Work Instructions, and Real-Time Status of Components and Orders
- Shop Floor Integration : An Overview of CAM and Shop Floor Workstations
