3D Metrology that grows with your requirements – precise & future-proof

Growing with your needs (GWYN). From 3D scanning service to your own measurement solution. How companies are gradually building up their quality control with optical 3D Metrology – from 3D scanning service to automated measurement solution with ZEISS technology.

Growing with your Needs

Companies that want to introduce optical 3D Metrology are often faced with the same decision:

Invest directly or start gradually?

At WESTCAM, we therefore follow the “Growing with your needs” (GWYN) approach. You can build up your measurement technology expertise in two different ways – depending on your initial situation, budget and strategic goals.

There are two typical implementation paths:

Path 1: Entry via 3D scanning services (soft start)
Gradual development of measurement technology expertise without immediate investment.

Way 2: Direct entry with own 3D Metrology
Immediate implementation of your own optical measuring system in the company.

Holistic approach instead of “sell & forget”

Many providers focus exclusively on selling a measurement system. For us, however, cooperation does not end with the installation of a system. Our aim is a long-term, integrative partnership in which we accompany customers throughout their entire Metrology life cycle.

Consulting and project definition

Analysis of measurement requirements, selection of the appropriate 3D measurement technology solution and planning of optimal integration into existing production and quality processes.

3D scanning and inspection services

Professional 3D scans and component inspections carried out by experienced Metrology specialists using the latest ZEISS technology.

Implementation of hardware and software

Integration of optical 3D measuring systems, inspection software and automated measuring solutions into existing production environments.

Training and know-how transfer

Practice-oriented training for Metrology, Quality Engineers and Production Managers.

After-sales services with WESTCAM Metrology Care

Long-term care, maintenance and support for maximum operational reliability.

Soft-Start: 3D scanning services

Many companies initially opt for a risk-minimized entry via professional 3D scanning services. In this model, WESTCAM takes over the complete measuring task with the latest ZEISS Metrology.

In this model, we take over the complete measuring task:

  • 3D scan of the components
  • Digital component inspection
  • Evaluation and reporting

As demand grows, an in-house optical 3D measuring system is implemented – including training, integration and process optimization.

The findings from the service phase are incorporated directly into the training concept during implementation, report templates created can be adopted directly by the customer and productive use of the new measuring equipment is guaranteed within a very short time.

Software entry at the customer

The customer already uses its own inspection software, while WESTCAM continues to take over the 3D scanning of the components.

Investment in own 3D Metrology

As demand grows, the company implements its own optical 3D measuring system – including training, integration and process optimization.

Expansion through Metrology Care

WESTCAM remains involved as a partner and provides support for:

  • personnel bottlenecks
  • complex measurement projects
  • additional scanning capacities

This model reduces investment risks and enables the controlled development of measurement technology expertise within the company.

Direct access with our own 3D Metrology

Companies with clearly defined requirements often decide to start directly with their own 3D measuring system.

The advantage:
Metrology is integrated directly into the company’s own quality and production processes right from the start. Access to your own measuring equipment offers time advantages and process adjustments to production sequences can be carried out directly.

Scalable 3D measuring systems

for increasing production requirements

A typical entry-level scenario is an optical 3D measuring system with a rotary table solution, such as an ATOS system. As requirements increase, the system can be expanded step by step.

Typical extensions:

  • Automation of Metrology, e.g. through integration of a ScanBox
  • Programming and template creation by WESTCAM
  • Optimization of measurement processes directly at the customer

In this way, the 3D measurement technology solution grows in parallel with production requirements without having to replace existing investments.

WESTCAM Metrology Care

Service for the entire life cycle of Metrology. A central component of the holistic approach is WESTCAM Metrology Care. This service portfolio ensures that 3D measuring systems work precisely, reliably and efficiently over the long term.

Services at a glance

  • Measurement system checks in accordance with relevant standards (e.g. VDI/VDE or ISO)
  • Regular hardware maintenance and repairs
  • Software Maintenance Agreements (SMA)
  • Certified training and courses
  • Consumables and accessories
  • Personal expert support

As a result, measurement technology systems remain technically up to date and companies benefit from maximum investment security and process stability.

A partner for every expansion stage

In industrial 3D Metrology

Whether 3D scanning service, entry-level system or fully automated measuring cell – WESTCAM sees itself as a partner for all phases of optical 3D Metrology. The portfolio concept “Growing with your needs” precisely describes this philosophy:

We start where the customer is today – and together we develop solutions for the requirements of tomorrow. This often turns a single measurement task into a long-term partnership in which technology, expertise and service are optimally combined.
