Discovery Workshop | Basic
Target group
Future users of additive technologies
Prerequisites
No special technical knowledge
Learning content
The Discovery Workshop is typically the first step on the path to additive manufacturing your product. The workshop is an interactive event led by the GE Additive AddWorks team and includes lectures, group discussions and hands-on work.
Course content
The program has three phases:
Phase I: Basics of additive design training
This is a two-day training course that helps accelerate knowledge in some key areas of additive design and covers advanced considerations for part identification, which is particularly important in the next two phases.
Phase II: Workshop preparation
Our customers spend two to four weeks applying the knowledge gained from the training to identify products and applications. During this period, we provide continuous support in identifying potential components.
Phase III: Workshop on parts identification
Over a two-day period, we work with you to evaluate options, develop an initial cost analysis / business case and finally prioritize the results.
Added value for the practice:
- Save time. Some companies spend years finding their ideal applications for additives – get there sooner.
- Better planning of your investment in additives. We help you find the most economical way to increase your ROI.
- Reduce errors and speed up implementation. There is a learning curve with most new manufacturing technologies. However, learning can be lengthy and costly. Let us help you get on your way to additive success sooner.
