<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Why Moldflow? &#8211; The start of a strategic decision </h3>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Increasing quality requirements, more complex components and the pressure to shorten development times led Kromberg &amp; Schubert to examine the use of a professional simulation solution at an early stage. <strong>Autodesk Moldflow</strong> was deliberately chosen as the market-leading software. </p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Initially, the basic version was used in mold making <strong><a href="https://www.westcam-group.com/en/products/product-design/simulation-analysis/moldflow-adviser/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Moldflow Adviser</a></strong>. WESTCAM supported the site with an initial presentation and targeted training for selected employees from development, toolmaking and technology in St. Florian. </p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Initially &#8211; as is so often the case with new technologies &#8211; there was skepticism outside the immediate circle of users. However, the mood quickly changed with the first tangible successes: <strong>simulation gradually became an integral part of the development process.</strong> </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">With increasing experience, the possibilities of Adviser reached their limits. The logical consequence was the switch to <strong><a href="https://www.westcam-group.com/en/products/product-design/simulation-analysis/moldflow-insight/">Moldflow Insight</a></strong>later even in the highest expansion stage. </p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This enabled Kromberg &amp; Schubert not only to simulate filling and holding pressure processes, but also to analyze complex issues such as <strong>warpage</strong>, <strong>cooling</strong> and <strong>material behavior </strong>in detail.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A particular highlight was the examination of <strong>chemically foamed materials</strong> &#8211; an area in which the site broke new ground. The added value of simulation was particularly evident here, as new materials and processes could be digitally evaluated and optimized in advance. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The declared aim is <strong>to analyze every relevant plastic component with Moldflow in the early development phase</strong>.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Another strategic step is the planned direct link between the injection molding machine and simulation. Here, Kromberg &amp; Schubert is working closely with machine manufacturer <a href="https://www.engelglobal.com/de/at/home" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>ENGEL</strong> </a>a strong signal in the direction of digitally networked production. </p>
